About
I'm Sim. I'm a backend-leaning fullstack engineer who turns messy problems into simple systems: cleaner data, faster queries, safer deployments, fewer surprises in prod.
My primary stack is Go, JavaScript, Typescript and PHP/Laravel, with production experience across AWS and GCP. I'm security-minded: OWASP-oriented code reviews, CI security checks, and currently working toward CSSLP.
How I work
- 1. Measurable outcomes first: latency, cost, reliability, developer time saved. If I can't measure it, I question whether it matters.
- 2. Write down assumptions: edge cases, tradeoffs, and "what could break" before shipping.
- 3. Build guardrails: CI checks, scripts, automation, secure-by-default patterns. Make it hard to do the wrong thing.
- 4. Own production: comfortable pairing, debugging when things get weird, and triaging incidents.
What I'm looking for
Systems, APIs, data pipelines, internal tooling, reliability work. I want to go deeper on Go and backend architecture at a company where engineers own their services end-to-end.
I'm building toward a security-focused track. Not claiming AppSec expertise today, but actively working on CSSLP, doing OWASP-oriented reviews, and integrating security tooling into CI. I want to be in an environment where I can contribute to security practices while continuing to ship backend code.
